Day 02: Amman – city tour – Desert Castles - Amman

capital city of Jordan - Amman.
Start your Amman City sightseeing with a visit to Amman Citadel located 132 meters above the level of the City Centre. South of the castle we can still see the ruins of Hercules temple. Also, there is Umayyad palace and here we visit Archaeological Museum (it presents artefacts from Jordan’s archeological sites that date back from prehistoric times to the 15th century). The adventure continues then with exploring the Roman Amphitheater, which is considered one of the largest in the Middle East. Its construction dates to the beginning of the second Century AD.

you will head north from Amman to the Eastern Desert. You will visit three of the region's famous desert castles built by the powerful Umayyad dynasty in the — UNESCO-listed QusayrAmra, Qasr Kharana and Qasr al-Azraq. QusayrAmra was once an Umayyad hunting hideaway. The impeccably preserved castle is now best-known for its 8th-century frescoes that depict hedonistic scenes of nude women, wine and wild times.

Day 03: Amman – As Salt - Madaba - Um rasas - Petra
Day 03: Amman – As Salt - Madaba - Um rasas - Petra

Head to As-Salt UNESCO World Heritage Site, comfortably perched atop of mountains, As-Salt maintains an authentic society based on affection, brotherhood, and love. The mountainside city also has significant historical relevance, most notably, as the regional capital of the Ottoman Empire. Pro-tip: While you’re in As-Salt do not miss out on the unique architectural style seen in old homes across the city. A collection of these homes is currently being considered for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Continue to visit the mosaic city of Madaba, where an ancient map of the Holy Land is set on the floor of Saint George's Church. Umm ar Rasas, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, these ruins show a mix of Roman, Byzantine and early Muslim architecture. Among its treasures is the largest church mosaic floor in the country; newer discoveries are possible as the site has not been completely excavated. Continue to Petra for overnight

Day 04: Petra
Day 04: Petra

An astonishing day exploring hidden Petra! Enter the “Rose Red” city, hand sculpted from a mountain range by the Nabateans in the 3rd century BC. Begin your walk (or ride) at the imposing “Siq” a winding canyon road. At the end, you’ll gaze in total amazement at Petra’s most extraordinary monument - the
towering Treasury building rising over 140 feet. Beyond that, discover soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a theatre, burial chambers, and water channels – all remnants of a once great Nabatean culture.

Day 05 : Petra – Wadi Rum -
Day 05 : Petra – Wadi Rum -

Drive to Wadi Rum, this is a stupendous, timeless place, virtually untouched by humanity and its destructive forces. Here, it is the weather and winds that have carved the imposing, towering skyscrapers, so elegantly described by T.E. Lawrence as “vast, echoing and God-like...". Discover Wadi Rum by Jeep Safari 4x4 vehicle for two hours into the Wadi system to explore some of the best-known sites.
During our tours Bedouins will share information about plants and the way they use them. For example, “Anabasis Articulate” they use for washing purposes as it can foam and clean. And dead plants are useful as firewood. And for those who would like to participate in Bedouin’s life, they can assist us in collecting
firewood. They will use this wood to provide you with delicious Bedouin’s tea. After Jeep Ride, in the middle of the desert, enjoy breathtaking sunset over Wadi Rum.

Day 06 : Wadi Rum – Bethany – Dead Sea
Day 06 : Wadi Rum – Bethany – Dead Sea

On the route visit Bethany. Religious site of Bethany to explore first-hand the foundations of Christianity. The site of John the Baptist's settlement at Bethany where Jesus was baptized has long been known from the Bible and from Byzantine and medieval texts. The site has now been identified on the east bank of the Jordan River in Jordan, only 15 minutes by car from the Dead Sea Hotel. The Bethany area site formed part of the early Christian pilgrimage route between Jerusalem, the Jordan River, and Mount Nebo. This area is also associated with the biblical account of how the Prophet Elijah (Mar Elias in Arabic) ascended to heaven in a whirlwind on a chariot of fire. This is not to be confused with the village of Bethany near Jerusalem, where the Bible says Lazarus was raised from the dead.

Dead Sea at Leisure.
Zeit, sich zu verschmutzen! Sie können das Tote Meer nicht besuchen, ohne Ihren ganzen Körper zu betäuben.
