The U.S. Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has finally eased travel restrictions for Jordan, lowering it from a “level 4” rating that advises against all travel, to “level 3” recommending travel for fully vaccinated individuals.

The State Department eased its ratings on 61 countries and territories. Among those now listed at “Level 3,” like Jordan, are the United States, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Russia, Poland, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine, Indonesia, Malaysia, Libya, Panama, Mexico, Ecuador, Philippines, South Africa and Honduras.

This decision comes as a result of a decrease in the number of cases and the progress in the number of Jordanians being vaccinated.

So far, more than 1.8 million citizens have been vaccinated in Jordan as the government has set a goal to achieve the vaccination of 4.5 million Jordanians by September, with the aim of eradicating the coronavirus from the country in the shortest possible time.
